Kraftwerk dinner

I think you know that I see eye-to-eye with my Canadian friends on the vast majority of things. But I do have one bug to place upon your bear.

Macaroni and Cheese.

Macaroni and Cheese.

What’s with the “and“?

Yup, here in the still United Kingdom it is, and forever will be Macaroni Cheese. No bridging ampersands required.

Why do you need it?

What are you afraid of?

Do you think there are those who will think that it’s a strange tubular cheese from the Macaroni region? Cheddar cheese, Roquefort cheese, Macaroni cheese?

And so Canada, you’ve chosen to separate the pasta and fromagian elements of the dish in your description. But by doing so you’re making a rod for your own backpacks. For you are suggesting that something is a pure cheese when it is merely a cheese sauce. And that my friends is really not on…

Thus I implore you – join with us and call this handy-dandy dish “Macaroni Cheese”.

Or if you’re using the abrev. “Mac and Cheese” it’s now just “McCheese”… hold up… I can see that causing issues.

As you were, Canada!
